Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a plan for the development of the armed forces, which includes the modernization of Russia's nuclear triad from 2027 to 2036. This plan, discussed with high-ranking officials, aims to improve the capabilities of ground forces, develop an air defense system, and increase the export potential of Russian weapons.
The nuclear triad, consisting of intercontinental ballistic missiles, nuclear submarines, and strategic aviation, will undergo significant modernization. It is also expected that artificial intelligence will be widely integrated into military structures. Putin emphasized that the Russian army has gained valuable experience from the conflict in Ukraine, which will influence the defense strategy until 2036. So far, 95% of the armament of the Strategic Nuclear Forces has been modernized.
