The Russian atomic energy company Rosatom is open to negotiations with the American company Westinghouse regarding nuclear fuel for the Zaporozhye power plant in Ukraine.

The head of Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev, stated that the Russian company is ready to discuss with Westinghouse the issue of nuclear fuel stored at the Zaporozhye power plant, controlled by Russia. In June, Russia asked the UN to mediate discussions with the US on this matter, in the context of previous disputes related to intellectual property.
