Robert Fico, Prime Minister of Slovakia, said neutrality could be beneficial for the country in the current arms race, but did not present a concrete plan to exit NATO. Fico also emphasized Slovakia's distancing itself from Western allies by stopping military support for Ukraine. In the run-up to the NATO summit, he discussed defense spending, stressing the need for a gradual and dual-track approach, without fully understanding the reasons for strengthening military capabilities.
