The Republic of Moldova has banned 152 Russian athletes, 64 Belarusians and other citizens from Georgia and Azerbaijan, suspected of having other purposes than participating in the European Kickboxing Championships. The authorities cited links of some of the participants to structures of force and activities promoting Russian aggression. The interior ministry confirmed that all those considered a potential threat to national security are being vetted according to the law. The championship, organized by Chisinau City Hall, has sparked controversy, with accusations that it is against the public interest.
