Russian President Vladimir Putin rejected the idea of an "artificial ceasefire" and emphasized that he is open to a "true peace" for Ukraine, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. He stated that Putin rejects strategies aimed at buying time and appreciates the efforts of American President Donald Trump for a resolution to the conflict.

Peskov avoided speculating on a possible peace agreement before the end of the year, mentioning that the discussion about Ukraine's NATO membership is a "special issue." Additionally, the Kremlin rejected the changes proposed by Ukraine and Europe to the initial peace plan, warning that objections will be raised if significant changes are made, especially regarding territorial issues.
