Putin flew the bomber, named 'Ilia Muromett', for about 40 minutes, the route being kept secret. The flight could be a demonstration of Russia's nuclear capabilities to the West. The Tu-160M bomber is a modernized version of the aircraft used by the USSR during the Cold War.
