The condition imposed by Vladimir Putin to donate one billion dollars to Trump's "Peace Council"

The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, said he agrees to donate one billion dollars to the "Peace Council" proposed by Donald Trump, but with one condition, namely that it comes from Russian assets frozen in the United States as a result of the invasion of Ukraine.

Yuri Ushakov, the Kremlin's foreign policy advisor, confirmed that the subject was discussed with the U.S. special envoy, Steve Witkoff, and with Jared Kushner.

"During the exchange of views regarding the Peace Council, our willingness to allocate one billion dollars from Russian assets frozen by the previous American administration for the budget of this organization was emphasized," said Yuri Ushakov, the Kremlin's foreign policy advisor, on Friday.

Ushakov mentioned that, in addition to the proposed amount for the Peace Council, the rest of the funds could be used for the reconstruction of the territories affected by the conflict, but only after the conclusion of a peace treaty between Russia and Ukraine. Although Putin was invited to join the initiative, he did not confirm a firm commitment. Trump has already announced that the "Peace Council" has begun its activities, having members from various countries, but without European allies.
