Ukraine is under increasing pressure from Washington to accept a peace plan proposed by the United States, according to anonymous sources cited by Reuters. The U.S. has threatened to halt the supply of weapons and intelligence if Ukraine rejects the plan, wanting a framework agreement to be signed by next Thursday.
A delegation of senior American military officials discussed this plan, which contains 28 points, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Among its demands are the cession of the Donbas region to Russia, limiting the size of the Ukrainian army to 600,000 soldiers, and abandoning aspirations for NATO membership. In return, Ukraine could receive security guarantees, but without foreign troops on its territory.
