Shigeru Ishiba has decided not to attend the NATO summit in The Hague, and Lee Jae Myung has announced the same decision, citing the unstable situation in the Middle East. The meeting between NATO and the IP4 group, which includes Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand, will not take place, and a meeting with Donald Trump is also unlikely. This will be South Korea's first absence from a NATO summit in four years, and the Japanese foreign minister will represent Japan in place of the prime minister.
