Three doctors at a hospital in Pszczyna have been convicted of negligence in the case of a 30-year-old patient who died of septic shock after waiting too long to decide on an abortion. She was hospitalized with severe pregnancy problems at 22 weeks. Her death sparked protests across Poland, where abortion laws are extremely strict. The number of legal abortions is very low, in contrast to the support provided by abortion access organizations.
