Viktor Orban confirms the discussions with Vladimir Putin and attacks Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk: "What have you done for peace?"

The Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban acknowledged on Tuesday that he had discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin about ending the war and organizing a peace summit in Budapest.

This statement came after Bloomberg published a transcript of the conversations between the two leaders, in which Orban expresses his full support for Putin.

In a message on platform X, Orban responded to criticisms from Polish leader Donald Tusk, asking him what he has done for peace.

In the phone conversation in October, Orban stated that he is willing to help Russia with any problem, using a popular story from Hungary to illustrate this.

This information comes in a tense electoral context in Hungary, where crucial parliamentary elections are taking place on Sunday, and Orban, considered a close ally of Putin, could be removed from power after 16 years.

Hungary is also opposing aid for Ukraine, and Orban's campaign presents President Zelensky as an enemy of the Hungarian state.
