Orban stated that Hungary has no moral obligation to support this candidacy, emphasizing that EU membership is decided by unanimity. He also mentioned a survey showing that the majority of Hungarians oppose Ukraine's membership, although the credibility of this survey has been questioned. Orban, known for his pro-Russian positions and ties to the Kremlin, further stated that Ukraine is not a sovereign country.
