A report by an expert affiliated with the Institute for National Security Strategy in Seoul shows that North Korea may have earned between 7.67 billion and 14.4 billion dollars from its activities related to the war in Ukraine. North Korea has deployed over 20,000 soldiers in Russia since October 2024, and the direct profits from these deployments are estimated at 620 million dollars.
The report suggests that if the situation continues, Pyongyang could earn 560 million dollars annually just from sending soldiers. Additionally, there is a possibility that North Korea could receive military technology and precision equipment from Russia. This situation could undermine the effects of international sanctions on the North Korean economy, especially by reducing foreign currency revenues.
