Tesla has acknowledged that the delays were caused by internal data collection issues, which have been remedied. NHTSA will analyze the extent of the delays and possible missing or incomplete reporting. The agency is also already investigating 2.4 million Tesla vehicles for collisions in low visibility conditions.
