The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced the opening of an investigation into Tesla's significant delays in reporting crashes involving its autonomous driving technology. Tesla has acknowledged that the delays were caused by internal data collection issues, which have been remedied. NHTSA will analyze the extent of the delays and possible missing or incomplete reporting. The agency is also already investigating 2.4 million Tesla vehicles for collisions in low visibility conditions.
