<p>Pope Leo XIV has said the Vatican is willing to host peace talks between Russia and Ukraine after the Istanbul summit failed to bring together the leaders involved.The Pontiff described the current situation as "tragic" and said promoting peace will be a priority in the new pope's term. Pope Leo XIV has already been in touch with Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski and called for direct negotiations, underlining the importance of dialogue as a solution to end the conflict.
