Although doctors believe that the likelihood of infection is low, authorities have decided to isolate the team for six weeks. The MV Hondius has been a hotspot for infection, having three deaths caused by the virus. The 'Andes' variant of the hantavirus is particularly dangerous, having the ability to transmit from person to person. WHO has confirmed new positive cases, and Dutch authorities must adhere to strict recommendations to prevent an outbreak.
