The North Atlantic Alliance is considering putting an end to the practice of organizing annual summits, according to statements from six sources cited by Reuters. This decision comes against the backdrop of increasing tensions with the American administration, especially in the last year of President Donald Trump's term. It is estimated that abandoning the summits could help avoid a potentially tense meeting with Trump, who has repeatedly criticized alliance members for their lack of contributions to U.S.-led military operations, including in the context of the conflict with Iran. This move reflects the challenges NATO faces in maintaining unity and cooperation among its 31 members.
