It was proposed by Romanian MEP Gheorghe Piperea, who accuses the Commission of abuses in its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. The motion needs at least 72 signatures to be debated and if it passes, the commission will have to resign. However, such a situation is considered unlikely, needing a double majority in the EP.
