Social media calls in Morocco for a new mass mobilization at the border with Ceuta August 15, a holiday in Spain

These calls are also accompanied by convocations for demonstrations in various cities in Morocco on August 9. The Moroccan Ministry of the Interior has not commented on these calls, while fact-checking organizations emphasize the coordination of these actions on social platforms.

The migration crisis between Morocco and Spain has recently escalated, with estimates of 70,000 migrants attempting to reach Ceuta, causing a tragedy with dozens of deaths. Moroccan authorities have emphasized that disinformation has contributed to this crisis, in a context where many migrants have been misled by optimistic messages on social media.
