After the arrival of tens of thousands of migrants at the Moroccan border with Ceuta, resulting in nearly 100 deaths, social media in Morocco has been flooded with messages announcing a new mobilization on August 15, a legal holiday in Spain.

The messages, circulating on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, contain slogans such as "15/08" and "al-hajma" (offensive), inviting people to join the crossing of the border. These calls are also accompanied by convocations for demonstrations in various cities in Morocco on August 9. The Moroccan Ministry of the Interior has not commented on these calls, while fact-checking organizations emphasize the coordination of these actions on social platforms.

The migration crisis between Morocco and Spain has recently escalated, with estimates of 70,000 migrants attempting to reach Ceuta, causing a tragedy with dozens of deaths. Moroccan authorities have emphasized that disinformation has contributed to this crisis, in a context where many migrants have been misled by optimistic messages on social media.
