The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova has drafted a new law aimed at protecting airspace in the context of current geopolitical and technological challenges. The new legislation introduces concepts such as aerial aggression and military threat and allows for tailored measures against unauthorized aircraft. Ballistic or cruise missiles can be intercepted by air defense systems. In the event of an attack, civil flights will be banned without authorization. The ministry emphasizes that inaction would aggravate national security risks.
