Spanish authorities are investigating possible links to jihadist terrorism among migrants who have arrived in Ceuta.

At the end of July, Ceuta was the scene of a migratory crisis, in which migrants associated with jihadist terrorism were reportedly involved, according to the Spanish press.

Moroccan authorities have accused 52 individuals of organizing illegal crossings, while the Spanish investigation continues. Sources from the Spanish police have identified at least 12 individuals who crossed the border illegally, previously expelled from Spain for activities related to terrorism. The Ministry of the Interior has not confirmed this information but has requested data from the involved institutions to assess possible prior warnings.

The organization of the crossings was allegedly planned on social media, where offers for the necessary equipment for illegal migration were circulating. In Ceuta, approximately 1,000 unaccompanied minors are awaiting identification, benefiting from Spanish legal protection. The situation remains tense both from a security and humanitarian perspective.
