Dmitri Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, stated that nuclear apocalypse is a real possibility, calling those who do not recognize this 'dreamers or naive'. Speaking at the federal education marathon 'Knowledge', he emphasized the importance of preparing for such an evolution, mentioning the existence of the nuclear triad in Russia.

Medvedev avoided speculating on who might use nuclear weapons first, but highlighted current tensions, including in the Middle East. He also mentioned the expiration of the START III Treaty, which limited the nuclear arsenals of Russia and the USA, and pointed out the Trump Administration's position of not extending the agreement. Despite the harsh rhetoric, Russia has expressed willingness for dialogue, but under new conditions, including the participation of other nuclear powers.
