The cyber-espionage campaign affected locally managed Microsoft SharePoint servers, used by many institutions to share documents. Attackers exploited a previously unknown vulnerability by installing backdoors for continuous access. Nearly 100 organizations, mostly in the US and Germany, have been identified as victims.
