Each of the eight families will receive $410,000, an amount intended to cover emotional suffering and burial expenses. Although 78 lawsuits have been initiated by the victims' relatives, 47 of them have been withdrawn after agreements with the airline. Flight MH370, which disappeared on March 8, 2014, remains one of the greatest mysteries in civil aviation, with the plane never being found. About two-thirds of the passengers were Chinese, and the court's decision comes in the context of the resumption of the search for the plane by Malaysian authorities.
