Pornhub, the largest platform for adults, has suffered a major security breach, with the hacker group ShinyHunters claiming to have accessed sensitive information of premium users, including email addresses and search history. The company has contacted over 200 million premium users to warn them about possible data theft. Pornhub confirmed that the unauthorized access was achieved through a third-party company, Mixpanel, which experienced a security incident.
Although Mixpanel stated that there is no evidence that the data was stolen as a result of the breach, Pornhub emphasized that financial information and passwords were not compromised. ShinyHunters claimed to possess 94 GB of premium user data, including details about the videos watched. This breach has raised concerns about the security of personal data online, in the context of recent large-scale incidents in the cyber domain.
