In a friendly video conference, Lula da Silva asked Trump to review the sanctions and tariffs imposed on Brazilian products. The two leaders discussed the opportunities to restore bilateral relations, recalling the good chemistry they had at the UN. Lula proposed a meeting at the ASEAN summit in October and invited Trump to COP30 in November. He also highlighted the trade surplus of the US with Brazil and encouraged ongoing dialogue between officials of both countries.
