Alexander Lukashenko, the president of Belarus, stated that he warned Vladimir Putin about an assassination attempt while he was preparing to travel to the BRICS summit in South Africa. In a discussion with journalists, Lukashenko emphasized that he had a friendly conversation with Putin, in which he told him that it is not safe for him to travel in the context of the war in Ukraine. He mentioned that he received information about a planned terrorist attack against Putin, obtained from intelligence services. Lukashenko insisted that, during the war, Putin should avoid traveling, as the risks are high. He also commented on a drone attack on Putin's residence, considering it an act of terrorism. In response, Ukrainian President Zelensky called the Russian claims about attacks false and suggested that Russia could use these accusations to justify attacks on Ukraine. Analysts pointed out that the circumstances of the attack do not align with the usual pattern of Ukrainian actions.
