The German airline Lufthansa has announced that it will maintain over 50% of its scheduled flights during the pilots' strike, which will take place on Thursday and Friday, in the context of a severe crisis in the aviation sector.

The VC union has called for strikes for passenger and cargo flights, intensifying pressure on the company regarding the pilots' pension system.

Although the strike affects the majority of flights in Germany, Lufthansa has decided to exempt routes to certain countries in the Middle East due to the security situation. The company stated that it will maintain approximately 60% of long-haul flights and 80% of cargo flights. The manager of Lufthansa's hub in Frankfurt emphasized that the company's priority is to transport as many passengers as possible.

The VC union accuses Lufthansa management of refusing to discuss improvements to the pension system, estimating that the strike could lead to 300 flight cancellations per day.
