The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, expressed irritation at the media reactions regarding the new peace plan for Ukraine, emphasizing that Russia will take a different approach if the 'spirit and letter' of the Anchorage summit are not respected. Lavrov mentioned that Russia initially welcomed the US peace plan, considered favorable to Moscow, but is awaiting a modified version after consultations with Ukraine and Europe.

He reminded that the key provisions of the initial plan, which included limitations for the Ukrainian army and the handover of the Donbas region, have been reported as changed. Lavrov accused the media of amplifying the scandal and called for Washington to communicate with Russia about the interim version of the plan, emphasizing the importance of respecting the agreements established at the meeting in Alaska.
