In a recent interview, the head of Russian diplomacy, Sergey Lavrov, stated that Russia maintains strategic control on the front in Ukraine, emphasizing that the West must accept the realities on the battlefield. Lavrov mentioned that Moscow is awaiting a response from the United States to Vladimir Putin's proposal to extend the START treaty, which expires at the beginning of next year. He stated that Russia holds approximately 19% of Ukrainian territory and insisted that resolving the conflict requires the removal of NATO presence in Ukraine and the adoption of a neutral status for the country. He also highlighted the importance of cooperation between Russia and the USA on international issues, not just in the context of Ukraine.
