Kim Jong Un was accompanied by his daughter, Kim Ju Ae, during strategic cruise missile tests, according to the state news agency KCNA. The two observed the launches from the destroyer Choe Hyon, and Kim emphasized the importance of maintaining a strong nuclear deterrent. His daughter, at about 13 years old, has participated in various military events, and South Korean sources suggest that she could be designated as Kim's successor.

The missile tests took place following joint military exercises by the US and South Korea, which North Korea considers provocative. Kim Yo Jong, the sister of the North Korean leader, warned that the country will demonstrate its deterrent power against enemies.
