Kazakhstan requested assistance from the US and Europe on Wednesday to ensure the security of oil transport, following drone attacks targeting tankers heading to a terminal in the Black Sea, managed by the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC). The Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that three tankers were attacked, including one chartered by Chevron, which led to a decrease in oil exports. The ministry emphasized that the frequency of these incidents highlights the risks to international energy infrastructure and called for cooperation to prevent such attacks in the future. The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that a tanker was attacked by Ukrainian drones, but Ukraine did not comment on the incident. Approximately 80% of Kazakhstan's oil exports pass through CPC, which is essential for global supply.
