Harris made the remarks in talks with Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski at the White House. She said that some in her country would pressure Ukraine to accept a peace deal that would in effect be a capitulation to Russia. Although she did not mention it directly, the peace plan criticized is the one put forward by Republican vice presidential candidate John Vance.
