Kabul is in a critical situation, becoming the first modern capital at risk of running completely out of drinking water. Climate change, population growth and mismanagement have resulted in more than 40% of drilled wells drying up and 80% of available water contaminated. Families are forced to dig unsafe wells or pay for tankers, while political instability and foreign aid blockades aggravate the situation. This is not just a water crisis, but also a health and humanitarian crisis with devastating effects on children's health and education.
