Industry Minister Adolfo Urso has announced that Italy will present an industrial strategy paper in June aimed at guiding the country towards new development opportunities. The plan comes as Europe's defense industry aims to increase its production, and Italy wants to create 'European champions' with a manufacturing base in the country. The Italian government also wants to provide encrypted communications for its officials and is developing its own satellite system.
