According to a statement by legal advisor Sagit Afik, the legislative elections will take place on October 27. These elections are the first since the Hamas attack on October 7 and are considered a referendum on the leadership of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Polls suggest that obtaining a majority will be difficult for both Netanyahu and the opposition, considering that Israeli coalitions are usually formed from multiple parties.

Gadi Eisenkot, former chief of the Israeli army, has become Netanyahu's main rival, and his new centrist party, 'Yashar!', is gaining popularity, leading in a recent poll. Eisenkot, an expert in security issues, was chief of staff from 2015 to 2019 and entered politics afterward.
