The Israeli army announced on Wednesday the launch of a 'vast operation' against Palestinian armed groups in the northern occupied West Bank, emphasizing that these actions are part of a broader anti-terrorism operation. This is not a continuation of the operation from January 2025, but a new action aimed at preventing the spread of terrorism in the area. Violence has significantly increased in the West Bank since the beginning of the war in Gaza, with a toll of over a thousand Palestinians killed, including civilians and combatants, according to data from the Palestinian Authority. At the same time, at least 43 Israelis have died in Palestinian attacks or military raids. The UN office reported an alarming increase in attacks by settlers in the West Bank, and violence continues to affect the region, including through recent attacks near Bethlehem.
