Israel carried out an attack on the southern suburbs of Beirut, targeting Ali Tabtabai, the chief of staff of the Hezbollah group, according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's announcement. This is the first attack on this area in recent months, known for the presence of Hezbollah officials. Although it has not been confirmed whether Tabtabai was killed, the attack occurred on a main street, causing panic among locals. According to medical sources, at least two people have died and twenty have been injured. The United States imposed sanctions against Tabtabai in 2016, and an American official stated that Israel did not inform the U.S. in advance about the attack, but that the administration was aware of Israel's intentions to escalate attacks in Lebanon. Israel accuses Hezbollah of rearming and violating ceasefire agreements.
