Iranian authorities have seized a foreign oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman suspected of smuggling 2 million liters of fuel. The chief judge in Hormozgan province said the 17-member crew had been arrested and a criminal case was opened. Iran, with low fuel prices, is stepping up its crackdown on smuggling, promising harsh punishments for proven offenders.
