Iran's Cybersecurity Command has banned government officials from using devices connected to public networks due to fears of targeted assassination.

The move follows growing fears over the use of tracking technology in attacks, similar to the pager incident the previous year. Fars news agency reported that Israel has used tracking technology to eliminate targets, including nuclear scientists. Iranian lawmakers are calling for the phones to be handed over to reduce the risk of tracking. Amid the tensions, Israel recently carried out an air strike on a military communications building in Iran.
