The retirement ceremony of the MiG-21 aircraft, nicknamed 'flying coffins', took place near the city of Chandigarh, after 60 years of service in the Indian Air Force. Although they played an important role in India's military history, their record of 400 accidents and 200 deceased pilots has raised safety concerns. India recently ordered 97 Tejas aircraft, highlighting its commitment to modernizing the military and boosting local arms production.
