Galina Mitkova presented three essential projects for the Castle in Balchik, which will be implemented by 2026. The first project consists of the donation of a bronze sculpture by Balcica Moșescu and Penka Dobreva, already installed, with the official unveiling scheduled for next year. The second project, titled 'The Threads of Time', will restore a tailoring workshop that houses a sewing machine over 100 years old, funded by the National Culture Fund. The third initiative anticipates the creation of an exhibition with a wedding room from the 1930s-1940s, which will include furniture and personal items donated, each having an associated story.
In addition, the Castle has launched the cultural program 'Traditions Bulgaria', part of the initiative 'Balchik: A Stage of World Cultures', which includes various cultural activities, such as folk music recitals and culinary demonstrations. It is also anticipated that a single access ticket for the Castle and the Botanical Garden will be introduced, facilitating visits. The Ministry of Culture and Sofia University support these efforts, and a working group is working on a new management model to simplify the ticket purchasing process.
