The International Monetary Fund (IMF) announced the restoration of relations with Venezuela, after their interruption in 2019. The Managing Director, Kristalina Georgieva, stated that the IMF will collaborate with the Government of Venezuela under the leadership of Delcy Rodríguez. This resumption of relations opens the possibility for Venezuela to request financial assistance from the IMF.

Bilateral relations were suspended in 2019, when the IMF recognized the opposition controlling the Venezuelan Parliament as the legitimate Government. Delcy Rodríguez confirmed the restoration of relations, mentioning that all processes related to Venezuela's rights within the IMF are being normalized.
