Hyundai Motor Group announced at CES in Las Vegas its plans to implement humanoid robots in its factory in Georgia, starting in 2028. These robots, developed by Boston Dynamics, will automate repetitive and high-risk tasks in automotive production. Hyundai intends to produce up to 30,000 robots annually, expanding their use across all its production facilities. In the first phase, Atlas robots will be used for component sequencing, and later, as the benefits are validated, their use will be expanded. They are designed to reduce the physical strain on employees and take on difficult tasks.

The vice president of Hyundai acknowledged concerns about job loss but emphasized that personnel will be needed for the maintenance and supervision of the robots. Hyundai is collaborating with leaders in AI, such as Nvidia and Google, to accelerate the development and implementation of these technologies in production.
