Péter Szijjártó, Hungary's foreign minister, made a visit to Moscow to ensure that his country will have access to oil and gas during the global energy crisis. In a video posted on Facebook, he highlighted the extraordinary challenges to Hungary's national and energy security caused by the war in Ukraine and conflicts in the Middle East.

Szijjártó mentioned that the oil supply through the Druzhba pipeline is blocked by Ukrainians, and discussions with the Croats affect Hungary's rights to purchase Russian oil. He called for guarantees that the necessary energy resources will be delivered to Hungary at current prices, warning that their absence could impact the utility bills of Hungarian households.
