Gergely Gulyas, the head of the Hungarian Prime Minister's cabinet, announced that Hungary will not implement the European Union's migration pact and will not accept any migrants. During a press conference, Gulyas mentioned that although the EU interior and justice ministers have already made a decision regarding the distribution of migrants, Hungary remains firm in its refusal.
Prime Minister Viktor Orban emphasized on social media that he will not comply with the EU agreement that provides for transfers and assistance for states under migratory pressure, considering that Brussels would force Hungary to pay more or accept migrants, which is unacceptable. Orban added that Hungary is already investing sufficient resources to protect the external borders of the European Union.
