The police in Hungary arrested a 30-year-old man, employed as a nurse in a hospital in Budapest, after being informed that he was keeping human remains at home and at work.
Following the search, investigators found skulls, a hand, a complete leg, and a reconstruction of a human face made from facial skin, along with other bones stored in a suitcase. A heart was also discovered in a jar, and authorities will check whether it is of human or animal origin. The suspect admitted to collecting human remains, being passionate about anatomy and pathology.
Investigators suspect that some body parts come from his workplace, while others are from abandoned cemeteries in Hungary and Slovakia. The man is being investigated for the illegal use of human bodies, and the investigation could be expanded depending on the results of the expert analyses. Checks continue to determine whether he acted alone and how he obtained the remains.
