Google, part of Alphabet, has sent an internal email to its employees, recommending that they avoid international travel, especially for those who hold visas for the United States. This measure comes amid significant delays in visa processing at embassies, which can take up to 12 months. The company's associate attorney, BAL Immigration Law, warned that departures from the U.S. could lead to forced removals outside the country.

The recommendation is amplified by recent additional vetting measures announced by the Trump administration for H-1B visa applicants, which target skilled workers, and include the analysis of social media accounts. The tech sector, which relies on these visas, is facing increased pressures, including a recent $100,000 fee for new applications. This is not the first time Google has made such a recommendation, considering that in September it suggested employees remain in the U.S.
