The Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is analyzing the possibility of organizing early general elections as early as April 2027, before the current parliamentary term ends. According to information published by Bloomberg, the leader in Rome is concerned about the evolution of her popularity and the impact of economic difficulties on the governing coalition. The decision could also be influenced by the electoral reform currently under debate in Parliament, as well as by the political pressures that arose after the failure of the referendum on justice reform. Despite the challenges, the executive led by Meloni is on track to become the longest-serving Italian government in the post-war period.
