France has decided to postpone the G7 summit, initially scheduled for June 14, due to a mixed martial arts (UFC) event organized by Donald Trump at the White House on the same day. The new schedule for the summit will take place between June 15 and 17 in Évian-les-Bains. The UFC event, announced by Trump in October, will gather up to 5,000 people on the southern lawn of the White House.
The office of French President Emmanuel Macron has not confirmed whether the postponement is directly related to the UFC match, stating that the change was the result of consultations with G7 partners. The U.S. Embassy in Paris did not provide comments on this matter.
